Music Therapy Club Collaboration (April 9th, 2026)
In this meeting we collaborated with the Music Therapy Club!
To collaborate with them, we used a music therapy technique to help teach primary school students about math. This technique is known as Numeracy Musical Training or NMT for short. We only did one NMT exercise, we had members create a song in groups about the number line. Then we had members walk along a number line on the floor according to the rhythm of their song. Finally, the members talked about how long a particular part of the song is. For more information on this technique, see Rodriguez, et. al (2019).
